1.Cancelling a subscription#

  • Cancel any time from Dashboard → Billing → Manage billing. Your plan stays active until the end of the period you've already paid for, then your account moves to the free tier.
  • Cancelling stops future renewals. It doesn't refund the current period on its own; see below for when refunds apply.
  • Downgrades take effect at the end of the current period. Upgrades take effect immediately and you pay only the prorated difference.
  • Passes don't renew, so there is nothing to cancel.

2.When you can get a refund#

First purchase, no questions asked. If NeverMetered isn't right for you, email us within 14 days of your first subscription payment or your first pass and we'll refund it in full. This applies once per customer.

Renewals and later purchases aren't refundable, including for unused time after cancelling part-way through a period, except:

  • where the law gives you a right to a refund;
  • if you were charged in error, for example twice for the same thing, or after you cancelled;
  • if the service was unavailable or badly degraded for a prolonged period because of a problem on our side; we'll refund or credit the affected time at our discretion; or
  • if we close your account without cause or discontinue the service, in which case we refund the unused part of any prepaid period.

Busy periods where requests queue are part of how shared capacity works and aren't, by themselves, grounds for a refund. Accounts closed for breaking the Terms or Acceptable Use Policy aren't eligible for refunds.

3.How to request a refund#

  1. Email legal@nevermetered.com from the address on your account, within 14 days of the charge.
  2. Include the invoice number (from Dashboard → Billing) and a short reason.
  3. We reply within 5 business days. Approved refunds go back to the original payment method and usually arrive within 5–10 business days, depending on your bank.

4.What happens after a refund#

  • Refunded pass: the pass ends immediately.
  • Refunded subscription payment: the subscription is cancelled and paid access ends immediately.
  • Your account, API keys and usage history stay in place, and the free tier applies again.

5.Failed payments#

If a renewal payment fails, we'll email you and retry it. Your plan stays active for 3 days after the period ends; if payment hasn't gone through by then, paid access ends. Update your card in the billing portal to restore it straight away.

6.Chargebacks and disputes#

Please contact us before disputing a charge with your bank. We can usually sort it out faster. When a payment is disputed, we suspend paid access and free requests on the account while the dispute is open. If it's resolved in your favour or withdrawn, email us and we'll restore your account.

7.Consumers in the UK and EU#

If you buy as a consumer in the UK or EU, you normally have a 14-day right to cancel online purchases. Because access starts immediately at your request when you check out, you agree that you lose that right once the service has been fully provided, and that if you cancel within the 14 days you may be charged for the part already used. Our 14 days first-purchase refund applies on top of this. Nothing in this policy limits your statutory rights.

8.Free requests#

The free tier costs nothing, so there's nothing to refund. Free requests that fail on our side before generating anything, such as a queue timeout, don't count towards your daily allowance.
